They’ll pay higher rents than those for generic apartments for the facilities they want. Of course they may not be there for the full year so that problem has to be addressed. Some units are rented out as holiday accommodation during those periods.

Student accommodation provides high gross returns of around 7% to 8%. But onsite management, 24-hour security and extra communal facilities mean outgoings are high.
